Wicked Health Tips

The web-based survey of Sandwell College students aims to find out their attitudes and behaviours on key health and well-being subjects. Research Sandwell are also in the process of evaluating the programme to assess its impact. |

Child Poverty Presentation
Posted by: Alex Hawley on 27/10/2008 11:44:57 Research Sandwell presented to the Child Poverty Seminar on 14th October 2008 at Tipton Sports Academy. The presentation showed the local context in Sandwell, making use of the indices of deprivation, particularly the Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index (IDACI), and presenting some key indicators at Core Offer Partnership Level. A static, unanimated pdf version of the presentation is now available here, including extensive annotations to the slides, which can be viewed by hovering over or double-clicking the comment bubble at the top of each slide. |

Wicked Health Tips
Posted by: Christine Wright on 03/09/2008 15:11:24 Research Sandwell are carrying out a web-based survey of Sandwell College students. The aim of the survey is to find out their attitudes and behaviours on key health and well-being subjects. The data will be used to help decide what information would be useful for students - and links to health tips will then appear on college screensavers. A second survey will be carried out in the Spring to gauge if attitudes and knowledge have changed. Results will be available next year. |

Triple S Physical Literacy 2007/8
Posted by: Andrew Turvey on 04/06/2008 16:06:46 The first draft of the latest data concerning physical literacy amongst children in Sandwell's schools has now been completed, and will shortly be published on the council's website. The analysis examines performance, demographic and health data for over 10,000 of Sandwell's children. The full report for the second phase of testing is available here. |

Teenage Conceptions in Sandwell
Posted by: Stephen Bridgwater on 03/10/2007 12:56:39 Latest data from Teenage Pregnancy Unit shows that in 2005 Sandwell had a higher teenage conception rate than national average, however there is evidence to show a declining trend over time. The latest report is now available for download, from the library. |
