Perceptions of ASB in Sandwell

Research Sandwell have just published a briefing note which explores the results of local surveys into residents' perceptions of anti-social behaviour in the Borough. This pulls together results of the ASB and Liveability Surveys, the Feeling the Difference Survey, and the Place Survey.

Of key concern to Sandwell residents are rubbish and teenagers hanging around.

The fifth ASB and Liveability Survey is now complete. The perceptions of 6200 residents have been measured through a telephone survey which was completed at the end of August. The survey monitors public perceptions about anti-social behaviour issues, as well as environmental issues such as litter.

Research Sandwell worked on a project to measure and map graffiti hotspots in the borough, which is featured in a BBC for Schools clip about the use of GIS to tackle graffiti in Westminster and Sandwell. View the clip here

A briefing note on Crime rates within Sandwell has been published.

The briefing paper aims to give an overview of crime in Sandwell over the past 5 years. The document will look at comparisons with other geographical regions, trends over time, geographical differences within Sandwell and any social or economic differences which may impact upon crime in the borough.

West Midlands Police have made neighbourhood crime and ASB data available via an interactive map of the region. Go to myneighbourhood.info to try it for yourself.
